Arbitration and mediation allow parties to resolve disputes privately, more quickly and with greater control than litigation. First Bethel Solicitors has a dedicated ADR practice led by our Principal Partner, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and member of the Panels of Neutrals of the Lagos State and Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouses and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission ADR Centre.

We act both as neutrals — sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator, arbitral registrar and mediator — and as counsel to parties. Matters we handle include disputes arising from investment transactions, banking and leasing arrangements, construction and infrastructure projects, commercial contracts, debt recovery, landlord and tenant relationships and property transactions.

We also advise businesses before a dispute arises, drafting dispute resolution clauses that give them a clear and workable route to resolution.
